The announcement follows Riot Games’ introduction of 2022 VCT and updates pertaining the VALORANT esports ecosystem and is of significance to Freaks 4U Gaming’s long-standing partnership with the publisher. With proven track record operating the League of Legends Prime League, Freaks 4U Gaming has secured the official license of the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) for Northern Europe in August 2021 and now aims to replicate its success crossing over to VALORANT regional esports. It is the first time Freaks 4U Gaming is operating a Riot Games esports ecosystem in France.

VRL DACH and VRL France in 2022 will be divided into two splits, with a maximum of 128 teams playing in the qualification phase, followed by 8 teams advancing to the regular split play and the final four vying for regional championship title and a spot for VRL EMEA finals during playoffs. The VRL EMEA finals will carry a prize pool of 150,000 EUR. First split will take place from January 24 through March 20, 2022, second split is scheduled from April 25 through July 3, 2022.
Matthias Remmert, Senior Vice President of Product, TV and Production:
We are excited to take on the new role of official operator for VRL DACH and VRL France to support Riot Games, in developing and growing the new, multi-layered VALORANT ecosystem which provides opportunities to players of all levels. Freaks 4U Gaming has built a solid foundation operating regional League of Legends esports, and we look forward to transferring our knowledge and best practices to building VALORANT esports. Having worked with Riot Games in the DACH region for many years, we are also pleased with the opportunity to collaborate on a Riot Games esports property in France for the first time.
