BERLIN, October 28, 2021 – Freaks 4U Gaming, a global full-service agency specializing in gaming and esports, today announced its new department of Platforms and Distribution, a dedicated team responsible for development and management of media distribution strategy, commercialization of media rights, and partnership opportunities across digital, linear media platforms, and telecommunication providers for the company’s proprietary and white-label products. As a result, Freaks 4U Gaming has appointed Sebastian Hauser as the Head of Distribution and Platforms, effective November 1, 2021, reporting to Marco Niemann, Vice President Commercial.

“Being one of the world’s top esports and gaming content creators, Freaks 4U Gaming works closely with leading digital and linear media such as streaming platforms, social media, and television networks. While these platform partners have been and will always been key stakeholders to our business, over the years we have also grown these relationships through providing consultancy and services, realizing productions as well as activations on our partners’ behalf. Given this unique dynamic, we believe a dedicated team is necessary to best cater to these strategic partners and accounts,” said Michael Haenisch, CEO of Freaks 4U Gaming.

“In addition to furthering the mutually-beneficial relationships with our strategic platform partners, the Platforms and Distribution team will also focus on developing distribution and commercialization of media rights of Freaks owned and operated products, such as tournament broadcast of Prime League, the League of Legends national esports league in the DACH region,” said Marco Niemann, Vice President Commercial, Freaks 4U Gaming, “as the esports audience continues to grow, Freaks is not only committed to producing engaging and impactful contents but also making these contents more accessible to a wider audience – ultimately contributing to sustainability of the esports industry.”

Hauser joined Freaks 4U Gaming in 2017 as Senior Account Manager followed by the promotion to Account Management Team Lead, he has demonstrated strong competency in relationship management, exceptional cross-function collaboration skills, and tenacity in delivering the best projects for endemic and non-endemic clients including platform partners. In the new capacity of Head of Platforms and Distribution, Hauser will leverage his leadership skills, experiences, and knowledge of the ecosystem to develop strategy and manage operations surrounding all facets of media rights, while deepening platform partner relations.

“With Sebastian’s proven track record at Freaks and as a seasoned professional, I am extremely excited about his new leadership role in driving one of the most critical initiatives for the company moving forward. The new department and appointment come at a strategic time for Freaks – after our recent investor announcement and wins of high-profile projects – as we gear up for 2022 with more exciting plans to come,” Niemann commented.

Despite operational challenges and setbacks during the pandemic, Freaks 4U Gaming has shown resilience and adaptability in their commitment to providing best-in-class services and solutions while achieving strategically significant milestones, including securing investor funding from Co-Investor Partners, welcoming ProGaming Italia as part of the Freaks 4U Gaming group, winning official licenses from Riot Games for Northern League of Legends Championship for the Nordic Region, UK, and Ireland, as well as ESL Gaming for ESL and DreamHack in Germany and France.
