Freaks 4U Gaming worked in concert with Blizzard Entertainment to produce an unforgettable, hype-enducing launch event and stream for Diablo IV in the DACH region.

The Brief



Blizzard gave us a simple brief: For the launch of Diablo IV, they wanted to have an amazing stream event with big German influencers!

The Challenge



The Diablo franchise has a gargantuan reputation and therefore high expectations from its horde of fans. A launch event to celebrate a new title needs to convey and build the hype accordingly. Additionally, the client gave us a lot of freedom in the execution. So, with an extremely short timeline to work with, we needed to create a worthy activation to get all of the fans on board.

What we did & results



We decided to let four beloved influencers compete in a 2v2 streaming event against each other. The stream was named Couching with the Devil - which describes the entertaining show quite well! Household names in the German gaming scene, Maxim, Divi, MckyTV and AnniTheDuck were battling in multiple diablo related challenges. To meet the timeline and budget requirements, we cooperated with Rocket Beans TV and Insight, both long-term friends and partners of our company.

Additionally, we organized and executed a community giveaway for the spectating fans. The lucky winner received a custom Diablo branded Xbox and controller worth of over €3,000.
