Red Bull Solo Q is the official 1v1 League of Legends tournament. It pits top League of Legends players against one another to determine who is the greatest LoL duelist in the world.

The Brief



For the Red Bull Solo Q Finals in 2022, our responsibilities were wide-ranging. We were asked to provide tournament concepts, structures and communication for all participating countries, while also maintaining a consistent strategic position for the brand and product within the community.

The tournaments' qualifiers, as well as the overall finals, required the management of global stakeholders such as AMD and AOC, and we ran partnership integrations throughout the competition.

Then there were the world finals, which took place in New York, USA. There, along with continuing to address all other parts of the brief, we were responsible for crafting an unforgettable exclusive experience for all participants across a 5-day period.

The Challenges



Global-scale projects place a high demand on teams and coordination due to time zone differences, legal requirements and understanding of local markets and communities. We managed to streamline processes on global scale to provide the League of Legends community with a great tournament series.

The Covid-19 pandemic continued to be a challenge, especially for onsite events. In close collaboration with responsible parties and in compliance with the highest health measures, we nonetheless delivered a special iteration of Red Bull Solo Q to the fans.

What we did & results



In terms of KPIs, we achieved more than 17K registrations in participating 27 countries. On top of that, we reached 197M media impressions with over 8M total views on all channels.

Overall, our achievements are reflected in the statements from various Red Bull offices around the world. According to Red Bull Colombia, "the support provided by F4UG was a key to successful project execution in the country." Meanwhile for Red Bull Hong Kong we were a "helpful team with timely delivery of all the requests." Finally, on a more personal note, Red Bull Denmark said that they "very much enjoyed the company of the team and wish to see the team on another project"
